Infoday and PPP Consultation in Italy


TECLA Association, in collaboration with Regione Basilicata, organized the « SIVA Project Infoday - Public Conslulation on potential common approaches to PPP as a tool to promote investments on virtual accessibility »

On June 19th 2014 the Infoday of the SIVA Project took place in Potenza, Italy in the premises of Regione Basilicata.

TECLA is partner of the project and in collaboration with Regione Basilicata, one of the european pilot territories of the project, organized an event focused on the European and Italian Digital Agenda, the problem of digital divide and the opportunities of Public-Private Partnerships in this sector.

During the meeting important stakeholders took the floor, including the Regional Assessore for Development, Mr. Raffaele Liberali, the officers responsible for the Information Society department of the regional administration and a representative from the Molise Region, together with private service providers.

The SIVA project will come to an end at the end of Septmber 2014 and it already produced a number of studies, reports and interesting tools for investment planning that will facilitate the work of public authorities and private operators working on the development of broadband infrastructures and related services.

In particular, the partnership developed some mapping instruments to give a clear picture of the broadband penetration on the field and to efficiently plan the necessary investments, specifically in territories affected by digital divide.

The SIVA project is being funded under Priority Axis 3 – Improvement of the Accessibility of the South East Europe Programme, achieving the corresponding objectives through the Area of Intervention (AoI) 3.2 – Develop strategies to tackle the 'digital divide'.
