SEE annual conference

The annual conference organised by the South East Europe (SEE) Programme in 2013 will take place on 19 June in Bucharest, Romania, Hotel Intercontinetal. Under the title "SEE achievements in view of the new programmes in the area", the conference aims to be the key territorial cooperation event in 2013 in South Eastern Europe.

Two representatives from the SIVA consortium participated at the Thematic Seminar in Split (Croatia), on 18th September 2013, under the title ACCESSIBLE SEE: Coordinating the results of SEE projects for improved accessibility across the region.

Tackling the issue of Accessibility (Transport and ICT), the seminar in Split gathered the project partners and important stakeholders of SEE projects belonging to 4 thematic poles identified within the SEE Capitalisation Strategy, under the guidance of the pole leader.

The 5th Global Information Infrastructure and Networking Symposium (GIIS 2013) took place on the 28th - 31st of October 2013, in Trento, Italy. The scope of GIIS consists of interrelated set of technical, policy, and social issues implicit in the development of national and international (global) information infrastructures and networks. GIIS aims at identifying and promoting the exchange of knowledge on these interrelated issues and provides liaison to bodies in the global society, technical fora and international standards.

Consultation Conference for the “DG CONNECT NIPS Study”

The European Commission’s DG CONNECT, Capgemini, tech4i2 and Deloitte organized the consultation conference of the on-going Study on the readiness of Member States for a common pan-European network infrastructure for public services (NIPS -SMART2012/0048). This study is linked to the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Initiative, which intends to pave the way for the deployment of interoperable, digital public services across Europe. 

PPP4Broadband Days conference in Bled

University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering participated the PPP4Broadband Days conference in Bled, Slovenia, which was fully devoted to Broadband in rural areas. The program was focused on the problem of broadband development in rural areas and covered different aspects. 

The SIVA project is being funded under Priority Axis 3 – Improvement of the Accessibility of the South East Europe Programme, achieving the corresponding objectives through the Area of Intervention (AoI) 3.2 – Develop strategies to tackle the 'digital divide'.
