Strategy for Electronic Communications and New Technologies 2008-2013

Presentation on the strategy for developing infrastructure for next generation access networks by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. It presents the strategy to develop open passive network, which will provide fiber optic access to approximately 2 million homes and businesses in Athens, Thessaloniki and at least 50 additional cities throughout Greek territory. The project is part of the 'Digital Strategy 2006-2013', expanding digital infrastructures and networks that are already deployed.

The SIVA project is being funded under Priority Axis 3 – Improvement of the Accessibility of the South East Europe Programme, achieving the corresponding objectives through the Area of Intervention (AoI) 3.2 – Develop strategies to tackle the 'digital divide'.
