SIVA Cost Reduction Assessment Tool (online version)

In the context of activity A423 of the SIVA project, the development of a Common Cost Reduction Assessment Tool took place followed by a two-month pilot operation. University of Patras was the responsible partner for the development of the tool, while the pilot tests took place in the Regions of Western Macedonia, Crete, Molise, Kyustendil, in the city of Burgas and in the Milano metropolitan area. 
Complementing the initial plans, an online version of the Common Cost Reduction Assessment Tool was also developed by UoP. This version provides municipalities, operators and any interested stakeholder a way to calculate the total cost of deploying a Fiber to the x (FTTx) and/or wireless network with and without the sharing of existing and/or common development of new infrastructures. In this way, the tool provides an overview regarding the savings during the deployment or expansion of broadband networks through the sharing of existing and/or common development of new infrastructures.
